A. Anne Arledge, 85, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Springs at Wyandot Trail in Lancaster. She was born to the late Nelson and Nellie Reid on August 7, 1940.
In her younger years, she was a dancer and often talked about her “silver shoes”, she was also in a bowling league. Anne earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Franklin University and she went on to work for Lancaster City Schools for over 20 years in the financial department.She was a spectator of golf, she enjoyed watching, but only played when she was younger. Anne also loved true crime shows on Investigation Discovery and was a proud fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She donated to several different charities throughout her life which was special to her. Above all, Anne loved her family and her beloved dog, Rosie. If you knew Anne, you knew “she was the smartest person in the world.”
Anne is survived by her children, David (Michelle) Arledge, Kris (Brian) Seymour, and Jenny (Jeff) Steinmetz; grandchildren, Dakota Seymour (granddog, Elena), Brandon Arledge, Hunter Seymour, Kirsten Arledge, Savannah Seymour, Keiton Arledge, Laura Steinmetz; great-grandson, Wheeler “Lil Ricky” Senften; sister, Lois Courtney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Nellie (VanFossen) Reid; sister, Mary Catherine Smith, and brothers, Charles, Harry, Donald, James, Dale, and Roger Reid.
Friends and family may visit from 6-8pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service for Anne will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Diana Gugel officiating. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Anne’s name to the Fairfield County Humane Society, 1721 Granville Pike, PO Box 1109, Lancaster, OH 43130.
