Alice M. Karcher 88 of Lancaster, Ohio died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born in Lancaster, Ohio on March 9, 1923 to the late Ralph and Ida Holliday. She was a graduate of Bremen High School Class of 1942.
Alice was retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. as a selector. She was a member of St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church and Olivedale Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Frederick Karcher; sister-in-law, Joyce Karcher both of Lancaster, Ohio; nieces, nephews, Dr. Brian Varney and his staff, her aides, Lisa Good, Maria Robinson, Corissa Good, Loretta Hall, Nichole Hoy; very special friends, Marjorie Layman, Jack Christy, and Creed Musser. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. William Karcher, son, Jeffrey L. Karcher, sister, Mae Langley, brothers, Lloyd Holliday, Hugh Holliday, Bill Holliday, and Richard Holliday, and brother-in-law Max Karcher.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Burial to follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given to Olivedale Senior Citizens Center, 253 Boving Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
