In Loving Memory of Anita Kay Poston

Anita Kay Poston, born November 7, 1951, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. Always a fighter, Anita conquered many cancer battles beginning at just 25 years of age, after using up more than nine lives’ worth of strength, went peacefully after a final battle with a brain tumor.

She was married to the love of her life, John Poston, for 55 years—proof that patience, humor, and commitment can truly go the distance.

For 55 years, Anita was a hairdresser, and she genuinely loved it. It wasn’t just a job—it was who she was. Through her talent, warmth, and deep caring for everyone in her chair. You didn’t just leave with good hair; you left feeling better than when you arrived.

When she wasn’t working, she poured that same heart and dedication into her flowers and landscaping, tending them with same loving care and dedication she gave to family and career.

Anita was a devoted grandmother and was eagerly looking forward to becoming a great-grandmother to Jude. Her grandkids were happily spoiled—especially with her famous warm towels, a small but unforgettable comfort that perfectly summed up her love. She will be fondly remembered for the comfort and love she showed them.

True to who she was, she would not have wanted any fuss made over her passing. She always put others first and would probably remind us all to keep it simple.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John Poston; her daughter, Ashley Wethington, her son, Josh (Wendy) Poston, and their children, Bailee (Jarred) Kreutz, and Brody Poston (Alee Brunty).

Anita was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Perdiew; brothers James and Ed Perdiew.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Chad Hansen for his kind, loving caregiving, always taking the night duty.

Family and friends may visit Friday, December 19, 2025 at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, BALTIMORE, OHIO from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place.

She was truly one of a kind—strong, hardworking, loving, and quietly unforgettable.
