Arthur "Cupcake" E. Henderson

Arthur E. “Cupcake” Henderson 87 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Fairfield Medical Center.

He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on March 8, 1939 to the late Arthur and Wavelene Henderson. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School the Class of 1958.

Cupcake was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Lancaster with 50 years of service and also operated Cupcake’s Records. He always kept the Lancaster High School Alumni informed about classmate’s activities via the internet. He was a sports fan, keeping track of scores and player transfers.

Cupcake is survived by his brother, David (Janice) Henderson; sister-in-law, Carol Henderson all of Lancaster; step-children, Rhonda (James) Thrush Somnitz of Independence and William (Jacqueline) Thrush of Rockbridge; step grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rebecca (Scott) Peters Somnitz and Kathleen Abbi) Vijaywergiya; eight step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Natalie Neff, Jamie DeLong, Andy Hupp and Christopher Henderson and great nieces and nephew, Anna DeLong and Emelie DeLong and Nathaniel DeLong.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna M. (Mohler) Henderson, parents, brothers, Robert Lee Henderson and Gary D. Henderson and canine companion, Ginger.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Phil Venrick officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
