Barbara Jo Haffey

Barbara Jo Haffey, 69, of Lancaster, passed away on April 7, 2025 at the Fairfield Medical Center. She was born to the late Jennie “Louise” and Thomas Hiles Sr. on July 24, 1955 in Lancaster, OH.

Barbara graduated from Lancaster High School in 1973 after studying cosmetology. For years she cut and styled hair in her basement that acted as her salon. Later in life she retired from Lancaster City Schools as a cook-cashier. Barbara adored her three grandsons, enjoyed bird watching and seeing her friend Cut-Tail the squirrel in her yard.

She is survived by her husband, David Haffey; children, Kelly (Tom) Miller and Kaylan Campbell; grandchildren, Gabriel, Drew and Jacob; brothers, Harold (Gerri) Hiles, and Ray (Norma) Hiles; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Hoffman, Carol Hoffman, Debbie Hoffman, and Deb Gaunder.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Hiles Jr., Fred, Dick, and John Hoffman; sister, Donna Bader; brother-in-law, Ed Haffey; and parents.

A funeral service officiated by chaplain Joel Reid will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 12 PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 PM at the funeral home on Thursday, and from 10-12 PM on Friday.
