Barbara Anne (Sumpter) Posey

Barbara Anne Posey, age 83, of Lancaster OH passed away peacefully at Scott's Place on February 22nd, 2021. Barbara was born to the late John and Madge (Buckley) Sumpter on August 29th, 1937 in Ashland KY. Barbara attended OU where she would receive her Bachelor's of Education. Barbara went on to teach various levels of education to the Lancaster school district for many years before retiring in 1999. Barbara was very passionate about her community, she often spent her time volunteering. Barbara was also a devout member of the First United Methodist Church. Barbara was an avid fan of sports, she loved watching NASCAR and her Cleveland Indians. Barbara was a member of many playing card clubs and always loved playing Bridge. Barbara will be deeply missed by her family and the community she served.

The family of Barbara would like to formally thank Scott's Place for all of their loving dedication and care that they showed Barbara. Thank you for all that you do.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Mike (Stephanie) Posey, Chris (Donna) Posey; grandchild, Rachel (Kevin Mong) Bray; great grandchild, Mikky Mong.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, James F. Posey; parents; brother, William Sumpter; sister-in-law, Janice Sumpter
