Barbara Ann (Fisher) Stamm

Barbara Ann (Fisher) Stamm, 85, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at The Pickering House following an extended illness. Born February 20, 1941, in Basil, Ohio, the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Young) Fisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gary Wendell Stamm, who passed away in 2018, and her brother-in-law Edward Stamm.

Barb is survived by her son Erick (Dottie) Stamm and daughter Greta (Ted) Talbot; grandchildren Ian Stamm, Leeanna (Nathan) Bryant, Amanda (Brian) Goertemoeller, Madeline (fiancé Domenick) Talbot, and Ryan Talbot. She also leaves her brother and sister-in-law Howard (Bud) and Ginger Fisher, sister-in-law Joan Stamm, and many nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Also left behind are Barb’s loyal and beloved dog Lilah and cat Molly.

Barb was born in the home that she lived in until her most recent hospitalization. She graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1959 and attended cosmetology school. In 1962 she married Gary and they moved to the Cincinnati area. She took great pride in being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She volunteered at school, baked cookies for her children’s teachers and husband’s co-workers, and taught Sunday school classes at the church. When her children were in high school, she served as the marching band uniform coordinator. She supported her husband throughout his career as a school administrator and this required several moves over the years to a variety of towns including Berea, Kentucky, Belpre, Ohio and Navarre, Ohio. While in Belpre, she served as President of the Woman’s Club and was instrumental in the development of the Belpre Bicentennial Bandstand Gazebo. A late career move brought Barb and Gary back to Baltimore and her birth home. Barb was able to care for her mother and mother-in-law in the last stages of their lives.

Barb was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Baltimore. She loved being the daughter of a farmer and remained a farm girl at heart for her entire life. She adored animals, flowers and good home-cooked meals. She enjoyed family vacations at the beach, watching her grandkids in their sports and activities, lunches with her friends from high school, the Food Network, Hallmark movies and holiday decorations. Barb loved her sweets and had a particular fondness for Esther Price and See’s Candies. She was known for her iced cut-out Christmas cookies and cinnamon chews.

Barb’s family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate health care providers at Fairfield Medical Center and The Pickering House. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 9th, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Johnson Smith Funeral Home, 207 S. Main Street, Baltimore, Ohio. A service officiated by the Reverend Jill Dunlap will take place immediately after the visitation. Burial will follow in Basil Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and near her mother and father.
