Betty Ann Boone, 90, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Wexner Heritage House.
She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on February 22, 1935 to the late Malcolm and Frances Kash Royse. She graduated from Winchester High School then went on to Penn Hall and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky.
Betty Ann was a school teacher and taught at St. Mary's Elementary, Talmadge Elementary and Cedar Heights Elementary before retiring from the Lancaster City Schools.
She was a member of The First United Methodist Church. She was co-director at the Sherman House, member of Froebel club and charter member of Twig 14.
Betty Ann enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching and a glass of bourbon. She was a mother and grandmother and very active with her family. Betty Ann is survived by her sons, Bill, John (Mary Lyle), Doug (Becca); grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Nelson, Maxim Boone, Katie (Josh) Estes-Waugh, Cawood Boone, Montana Boone and Dylan Boone; great grandchildren, Sybil, Ben and Rowena: brother Malcom D (Brenda) Royse and a nephew, David Royse.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at The First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Nikki Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove
Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may visit Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH
FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour
prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Sherman House or The First United Methodist
Church in her memory.
