Betty L. Davis, 87, died Friday, July 24, 2026 at The Springs at Wyandot Trail.

Betty distinguished herself as a devoted educator, community member, and spiritual leader, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Betty’s passion for education manifested in her career as a devoted teacher at Forest Rose School. Her induction into the Fairfield County Developmental Disabilities Hall of Fame in recognition of her years of unwavering dedication, was a truly proud moment. Betty actively participated in a wide range of community organizations. She was a proud member of lay renewal teams through Partnership for Renewal, Pioneer Investment Club, and Phi Beta Kappa. Her leadership qualities shone through as a founding member of the Friends of the Library. Betty’s faith was a central guiding force in her life. She was a devoted member, deacon, and elder at First Presbyterian Church. She provided spiritual guidance and support to her congregation through the adult bible study she taught.

Betty’s appreciation for the arts was evident in her frequent attendance at plays and classical music concerts, and the many books she read. Traveling the world with her beloved husband brought Betty immense joy. At home, Betty truly shined as a hostess. She possessed a unique talent for interior design, and had a passion for showing her love for family and others by serving them delicious meals.

Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years R. Eugene “Gene” Davis; children Julie (Victor) Broussard and Michael (Melody) Davis; grandchildren Jamie (Oliver) Cook, Julia Grace Davis, Stephen Broussard, and Seth Davis; and great grandchildren Lydia and Gene Cook.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Sarah Ethel (Silcott) Blackburn.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the First Presbyterian Church, 222 N Broad St, Lancaster, OH 43130. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Hampson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 222 N Broad St, Lancaster, OH 43130
