Braden Dunwoody

Braden Dunwoody, age 18, passed away unexpectedly following a tragic truck accident.

Braden was born on December 21, 2007, in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Logan High School and played football for New Lexington, where he filled various positions and became known for making great tackles. He brought enthusiasm, determination, and heart to the field.

Braden was almost always smiling or laughing. He had a genuine love for life and enjoyed every moment to the fullest. He especially loved his red truck and its incredibly loud bass speakers—speakers so powerful that some joked they could rattle the truck apart. If Braden was coming down the road, there was a good chance you heard him before you saw him.

An outdoorsman at heart, Braden loved fishing, spending time in nature, and zooming around on his minibike. He was naturally curious and always asking questions. He was fascinated by the things he learned and eager to understand more about the world around him.

Braden was a member of Zion Hill Church and the Church of the Risen Lord. His joyful spirit, contagious laughter, adventurous nature, and endless curiosity brought happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Although his life was far too brief, Braden lived it fully and created memories his family and friends will carry with them forever.

Braden was preceded in death by his loving mother, Jessica M. Hall; his stepfather, Aaron Hall; father, Jeff Dunwoody; siblings, Conner Dunwoody and Kyra Dunwoody; stepbrother, Dante Hall; grandparents, Carletta (Dwayne) Prater and James (Amy) Wickham; several cousins; and many other loving family members and dear, close friends.

Braden will forever be remembered for his bright smile, contagious laughter, adventurous spirit especially while riding his mini bike with his step father, his curious mind, and the enthusiasm with which he embraced life. The joy he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends may visit at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeff Palmer, will follow at 6:30 p.m. Caring Cremation® will follow the service.
