Brett Andrew Kim, 51, of Carroll, Ohio went to his eternal home on September 1, 2025.
Born on July 24, 1974, in Lancaster, Brett took every opportunity to be in nature, explore the world, and learn something new each day. He took great pride in providing for his family in every sense of the word. He enjoyed being outdoors and sharing his love for sports with his children, either watching them play or taking part in backyard games. Brett’s faith was at the core of how he treated others and went about his mission of sharing God’s love with all.
Brett was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, and uncle. He was raised in Sugar Grove where he graduated from Berne Union High School. Brett then attended Ohio University for both undergraduate and graduate degrees in athletic training and physical therapy. Brett would go on to obtain his MBA to pursue the administrative side of healthcare, and further his ability to help others.
Professionally, Brett expressed his passion for helping others access healthcare and to live better. He faithfully served Ohio Health for 25 years. Entering as a physical therapist, he ended his career as a Vice President for the Clinical Enterprise. He also took part in missions through his churches, wherein he tried to give kids and families from underserved parts of the world the care that they deserved. He took his son AnDrew on his first mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico, and recently returned from Africa where he taught leadership skills to pastors in Nairobi. Brett also served as a board member for the Children’s Hunger Alliance and Deans Advisory Council for the College of Health Sciences and Professions at Ohio University.
He is survived by his devoted wife Erica, children AnDrew (Morgan Bittner), Jacob, Mason, and Emily, sister Amy (Edward) Schillig, sister-in-law Aimee Cluse, parents-in-law Jeff and Laura Allton, along with nephews Maxwell Schillig, Jackson and Hudson Cluse, each of whom he loved unconditionally.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Sharon, and precious niece Anna Beth Schillig.
