Capt. Michael L. Buckley

Capt. Michael L. Buckley, age 63 of Lancaster went to be with his Lord on Dec 15, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center.  He was born in Zanesville on Oct 16, 1958.  He retired as a Captain from the Southeastern Correctional Institution.  He was a past 20 year member of the 1st Baptist Church and a current member of the Tree Church.  He enjoyed being a member of the Ohio Honor Guard, loved spending time with his family, his personality and way of life will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janis Buckley; children, Stephen (Andrea) Buckley, Nathon Buckley, Brandon Sims, Nathan Sims, Austin Buckley, Conner (Emma) Buckley, Brianne Buckley, Jared Buckley, Alayna Buckley, and Allison Buckley; 10 grandchildren, mother, Hannelore Buckley; siblings, Belinda (Steve) Lee, Patty (Mike) Heavener, and Sue (Jim) Kramer; several nieces, nephews, and four legged friends, Yana, Liberty, Abby, Cali, Riley, and Mittens.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Buckley and brother Chucky.

Caring Cremation™ has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial service will take place at the Tree Church, 721 N Memorial Drive Lancaster on Saturday January 8, at 12 noon. Family and friends may call from 11AM until the time of service all at the church.
