Carolyn L. Garber, a beloved member of the Lancaster community, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at Altercare Somerset. Born on July 22, 1948, in Lancaster, Ohio, she was the daughter of Helen A. Wharton. Carolyn was a proud graduate of Lancaster High School and dedicated her career to clerical and office work, where she was known for her diligence and reliability.
Carolyn's family was her greatest joy, and she is survived by her two sons, Jason Garber and Jamie Garber, both of Lancaster. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Michaela (Avery) Patridge, Madison Garber, Kyle Garber, and Aubrey Garber, and she found delight in being a great-grandmother to Beatrice Patridge. Her close-knit family also includes her sister, Sharon Griffith, and her brother, Gary Wharton, both of Lancaster, along with her niece and nephew.
In addition to her family, Carolyn took pride in her community involvement as a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #955. She found joy in reading, going to the beach to watch the ocean, and playing Bingo, which brought a vibrant spark to her life.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Helen A. Wharton, and her nephew, Jeff Wharton.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carolyn’s life during a visitation on November 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, both to be held at The Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio with Chaplain Josh Dexter officiating.
Carolyn L. Garber will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her. She leaves a legacy of love that will continue in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
