Charles "Charlie" S. Weller, born on June 11, 1934, left this world on October 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, bravery, and a passion for life that touched the hearts of many. A graduate of Millersport High School in 1952, Charlie embarked on a remarkable journey that began in 1968 when he began his career in sales at Walker and Battat Ford in Newark. His entrepreneurial spirit flourished as he later established Weller Motors Inc., which he proudly ran from 1989 until 2016, becoming a beloved figure in the community known for his warmth and exceptional customer service.
Charlie’s life was characterized not only by his dedication to his career but also by his adventurous spirit. He served his country in the US Air National Guard. In 1964 he received the Carnegie Medal of Bravery. This honor was a testament to his character, a character defined by courage and an unwavering desire to help others.
Known for his vibrant personality, Charlie was a magnificent people person who knew everybody and treated each individual he met with genuine kindness. He had a unique ability to connect with others, making friends wherever he went; indeed, he didn’t know a stranger. His love for cars extended beyond his profession; he lived and breathed everything fast, embracing the thrill of drag racing and even building boats to run speed trials. His enthusiasm for life ignited a similar passion in those who were lucky enough to share it with him.
Charlie's family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his son, Charles "Nick" N. Weller (Susan), grandchildren Lauren N. Weller and Morgan L. Weller, and great-grandchildren Kendall, Karsten, Aubree, and Aiden. These relationships filled his life with love and happiness, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Charlie's passing reminds us of the love and light he brought into the world. He has joined his loving wife, Masil Eloise Weller, who predeceased him, as well as his brother Robert Weller and his parents, Cecil and Mildred Snyder Weller. Their spirits now watch over him, welcoming him home.
