Charles “Chuck” E. Ervin, 70 of Pickerington, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born on September 20, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Max and Wilma Ervin.
Chuck worked for Big Bear for 23 years then went to work for the City of Columbus and retire as the Supervisor of Sewer and Maintenance Department with 20 years of service.
He enjoyed woodworking where he made cabinets, book cases and other wood items and model making (Universal Studios types). Chuck liked to play the acoustic guitar, watching the Cleveland Browns play and his Ohio State Buckeyes. In the warmer months he would then play golf.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheila K. Ervin; sons, Shawn (Jessee) Ervin of Hillsboro and Bryan (Tamra) Ervin of Groveport; daughter, Kelly Marie Tausch of Santa Clara, California; ten grandchildren; brother, Mark W. (Terri) Ervin of Reynoldsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff Ervin.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Violet Cemetery, Pickerington, Ohio. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
