Charles Floyd “Chuck” Young passed peacefully after a long battle with Parkinsons’s disease and pulmonary fibrosis on August 16, 2025, just one week shy of his 80th birthday. He was born on August 23, 1945 to Mary Luease (Combs) Young and William Hiram Young. He was a Liberty Union High School graduate Class of 1963.
Chuck was retired from Lucent Technologies as a circuit board instructor with 40 years of service.
He enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting, sports (especially Ohio State Football) and mushroom hunting! He was a member of St. Michael’s United Church of Christ in Baltimore and a lifetime member of the Baltimore VFW 3761.
Those who knew him will always remember him by his infectious grin, his quiet character and integrity, his graciousness, his intelligence and his wit. John and I are undoubtedly the people we are today because of the wonderful example he set for both of us. “A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him.” Proverbs 20:7
He was proceeded in death by his “partner in crime” Marty of 57 years, his parents, son Jeff, 8 siblings and sons-in-law Tom Kay and Steve Ford. He is survived by his daughter Christy (Scott) Holland and son John (Twana) Young, grandchildren Ashleigh Young, Jordan (Autumn) Kay, Jennifer Evans, Troy Artusi, Jesica Holland, Travis Ford, Tanner Kay, Tyler Ford, JJ (Sidney) Young, Raven (Aaron) Valdez, Emily Holland and Abbee (Isaiah) Abney, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, his brother David (Carol) Young and brother in law Ron Scott and sister in law Karen Martin and many nieces, nephews and friends.
