Charlotte A. Boring 85 of Wooster, Ohio formerly of Carroll, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Lifecare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio. She was born June 2, 1940 in Nitro, West Virginia then moved to Meigs County, Ohio when she was in the 2nd grade. Charlotte met Sonny when she was in 3rd grade and he was in the 4th but she didn’t pay too much attention to him until 10th grade (her words). She worked as an Operator at the Athens Phone Company for 2 years before marrying Sonny on May 18 1962.
She proudly worked at Battelle as a switchboard operator from 1962 until about 1968. She then stayed at home where she was the most immaculate housekeeper, best cook, lover of birds and all of nature, gardening, canning and could throw a wicked side-arm baseball. Charlotte had an extreme sweet tooth including her standard Grande Vanilla Latte and loved to stay up and watch a movie or show but would somehow always manage to go to bed with only 10 to 15 minutes left.
She loved her family, was painfully shy, was sweet but sassy and had the best sense of humor and always said laughter could turn around a bad day.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Vatchel “Sonny”; children Bryan (Andrea) Boring of Lancaster, Kelly (Erik) White of Wooster, and Eric (Lisa) Boring of Gadsden, Alabama; grandchildren, Bryan Jr, Clinton, Cade Boring and Ronan White; sisters, Barbara (Joe) Allen of Dublin, Sonya Way of Francestown, New Hampshire and Tammy (Jim) Walters of Illinois; brothers, Steve (Judy) Escue of Bucyrus and David Escue of Columbus; many nieces and nephews and in-laws.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Nye and Hilda Escue and a brother, Roger Escue.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Memorial gifts may be given to Lifecare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691 in her memory.
Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, LANCASTER, OHIO.
