Cheryl Anne (Decker) Marcum, age 68, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. She was born on January 15, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, and spent most of her life in Baltimore, Ohio, where she built a life centered on love, family, and kindness.

Cheryl was the definition of a nurturer. Being a mother and grandmother was the greatest joy of her life, and she poured her heart into caring for those she loved. Soft-spoken, gentle, and tender-hearted, Cheryl had a warmth that made everyone feel safe, seen, and loved. She was truly the sweetest and most loving mother anyone could ask for.

Beyond her beautiful soul, Cheryl was strikingly beautiful inside and out, with a smile that rarely left her face. She was joyful, giggly, and full of life, bringing light into every room she entered. She adored the holiday’s; a love reflected in her stunning seasonal decorations that made her home feel magical year-round. Cheryl was also deeply artistic, finding happiness in painting, crafting, and sharing those special memories with her children and grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by her loving children, Danielle Couch, Bryan Marcum, and Chris Marcum; her cherished grandchildren, Kobe (Makala) Barnett, CJ Barnett, Kaiden Barnett, Brody Marcum, Charlie Marcum, Jimmy Marcum and Landon Sheets; and her brothers, Eddie Decker and Timothy Decker. She is also survived by her loving companion, Kenny Kredel and lifelong best friends of over 50 years, Tonya Howard and Gina Atha. Together, the three were true sisters bound not by blood, but by an unbreakable bond of love and friendship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Reynolds and Richard Decker; her brother, Ricky Decker; and her beloved daughter, Allison Marcum, whom she will now rest beside once more.

Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Paul Lutheran Church,1965 Lutheran Church Rd SE, Lancaster, OH 43130 for calling hours on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Directly following will be a service, officiated by Patti Morrow, SAM, beginning at 1pm to celebrate Cheryl’s beautiful life, followed by a burial and graveside service at St. Paul Cemetery, where Cheryl will be laid to rest next to her sweet daughter Allison.

Cheryl’s legacy is one of unconditional love, gentle strength, and a heart that gave endlessly. She will be deeply missed and forever treasured by all who were blessed to know her.

Arrangements are being handled by the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, BALTIMORE, OHIO.
