Deanna B. (Saffell) Rothemich

Deanna B. Rothemich, age 73 of Lancaster went to be with her Lord on July 20, 2023 at OSU Medical Center.  She was born on Jan. 29, 1950, in New Lexington, OH to the late Albert and Blanche Saffell.  She was a  K-5 teacher at Southern Local Schools specializing in reading and recovery.  Deanna attended Lancaster United Bretheran Church and she enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling around with her late husband, Pastor Richard O. Rothemich.  Her family and friends have fond memories of her helping her husband as the youth pastor at Crooksville United Methodist Church. Her fond memories will be cherished by all who knew Deanna.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie S. Rothemich, Christina (Donald) Schneller, Rebekah Davison; special friend, David Freeman; 9 grandchildren; brother, Roger Saffell; sisters, Joyce (Don) Mohler and Glenna Saffell; and niece and nephew, Emily and Everette Mohler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Richard O. Rothemich.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at 12:00PM Noon, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130.  A burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.  Calling hours will take place 2 hours prior to the service from 10AM to 12PM Noon, at the funeral home.
