Don G. Amrine

Don G. Amrine, 85, of Lancaster, passed away on October 17, 2024 at the Pickering House. He was born to the late Henry Glen and Ruth M. (Smith) Amrine in Columbus, OH. 

Don loved bluegrass music, both playing and listening. He was a member of the Gideons, First Baptist Church of Lancaster, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, and Olivedale Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Susan (Cofman) Amrine; son, D. Michael (Kay) Amrine; daughter, Bridget Hopkins; grandchildren, Wesley M. Amrine and Amy (Colton Chatfield) Hopkins; beloved great grandchildren, Aubrey Chesshir and Ryder Chesshir; brother, Jim P. (Sheila) Amrine; sister, Linda R. (Richard) Williamson; sister-in-law, Linda (Cofman-Ramey) Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gilbert H. Hopkins; and parents. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 2 PM in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow in Betzer Cemetery, Carroll. Family and friends may visit from 12-2 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday.
