Doris Eleanor (Barringer) Rowland Augustine

Doris E. Rowland Augustine, age 94 of Lancaster, died on July 16, 2022 at Primrose.  She was born to the late Alva and Bessie Barringer, on April 22, 1928 in Laurelville.  She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, where she was a past Sunday school teacher and was an office manager at the Heritage Lincoln Mercury Dealership.  Doris enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, flowers, birds and especially loved playing golf.  Doris’s amazing personality and love for life will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Slater, Marcia (Wayne Scott) Conrad, Ronald (Kathy) Rowland, and Thomas (Debra) Rowland; grandchildren, Jason (Tammy), Justin (Randi), Andy, Jennifer (Mike), Megan (Aaron), Jamie (Liz), Evan, and Erin (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Cailyn (Jared), Camryn (David), Carlie, Madalyn, Ava, Nicholas, Aaron, Claire, Beth, Colton, Sophia, Iris, and Millie; sibling, Margie Davis; several nieces and nephews; step-children, Jim (Linda) Augustine and John Augustine and families; brothers and sisters in-law, John Rowland, Pamela (Bill) Topper, and Pat (Ed) Townsend; and ex-son-in-law, Terry Conrad.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband of 56 years, James Rowland, 2nd husband of 9 years, Eugene Augustine; infant son, Jimmy Rowland; son-in-law, Robert Slater, step-daughter-in-law, Wendy Augustine; siblings, Bill (Reah) Barringer, Boyd (Murna) Barringer, Lawrence (Martha) Barringer, Harold (Bessie) Barringer, Hartley Barringer, Ruth (Forrest) Smith, Mary (Elmer) Kreachbaum, Mable (Matt) Slavick, Thelma (Jon) Lehman, Lucille (Merle) Culbertson, Louise Burgett, Betty (Bill) Huffman, and Edith (Birl) Tatman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Mary) Rowland, Bob (Wanda) Rowland, Betty (Adolph) Turco, and Lawrence Davis; and step-brother-in-law, Harold Rowland.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 1PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N Columbus St. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery in Lancaster. Family and friends may call from 4PM until 7PM on Wednesday, at the Funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Donations can be made in Doris's name to a charity of your choice.
