Douglas Wilson Beatty, 57 of Lancaster, Ohio left this world surrounded by his family, a fighter, tragically succumbing to his battle with cancer on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Even in the darkest of times, Doug never found a bad thing to say about anyone. Not even the diagnosis of cancer was enough to ruin his spirits. Antithetically, it motivated him to try to help others through their battle. Doug was always the spark that lit up any room. With a smile as contagious as a yawn, and a shimmer of ornery in his eyes, you just knew there was a joke on the tip of his tongue.
He was an entrepreneur always working on a new business adventure. Though he rarely stopped working, you could always call him for a helping hand. The word quit was never in his dictionary.
There were no strangers to Doug, just friends he hadn’t met. His friends meant the world to him. Doug had a heart with room for everyone. It is this attribute above all that we ask you to come remember and celebrate with us.
Douglas is survived by his mother Alberta Casto of Lancaster, Ohio; sisters Lisa Beatty of Baltimore, Ohio and Connie Beatty of Lancaster, Ohio; nephew Cori (Christina) Beatty of Lancaster, Ohio; aunts and uncle Pat Shafer, Diane Bush and Wayne and Donna Valentine all of Lancaster, Ohio; step brothers Allen Ray Spires and Jeffrey Earl Spires both of Lancaster, Ohio and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth “Kenny” G. Beatty, step mother, Minnie Beatty, uncles Dennis Beatty, Eddie Beatty, and Tom and Ted Valentine
