Dr. William J. Hunzicker, DDS

Dr. William J. Hunzicker, DDS 89 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Sylvester M. and Regina Hunzicker.

He served his country during Vietnam as a Captain in the US Air Force. He had his own private orthodontic practice on N. Maple Street, Lancaster, Ohio for over 51 years where he served the community. William farmed in Berne Twp. for more than 50 years.  He enjoyed scuba diving and underwater photography.

William was a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow and Ohio Association of Orthodontists. He had a private pilot’s license, multi engine and instructor ratings.  William was the president of the Aero Club in Greensville, South Carolina at the Donaldson Air Force Base.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Hunzicker; daughters, Theresa (Chet) King of Albany New York and Dr. Tamara Hunzicker of Brunswick, Maine; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Cathie McFadden of Powell, Ohio and cousins.

Friends may visit Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.  A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio.
