Earl Ray Lama, a beloved figure in his community, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Lancaster, Ohio. Born on February 12, 1947, in Hocking County, Ohio, Earl lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a profound love for the outdoors. Earl had a distinguished career in the decorating department at the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, where he worked diligently until his retirement. His commitment to his work was matched only by his service to his country, as he was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army. This period of service profoundly shaped his character and instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life.

He will be remembered for his love of fishing and hunting, often found enjoying peaceful moments on his pontoon boat, relishing the tranquility of nature. His passion for these hobbies reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his desire to connect with the world around him.

Earl is survived by his son, Joseph Lama; his sisters, Linda Sellers and Beverly Ricketts; his brothers, Donald (Marjorie) Lamb and Roger Lama; as well as his sisters-in-law, Brenda Shook, Patricia Stacy, and Sandra Noice. He also leaves behind a cherished group of nieces and nephews who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Lama; his parents, Boyd and Marjorie Lama; and his brothers, Randall and Larry Lama, along with his sister, Marlene Lindsey. The loss of Earl is not just a void for his family but for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Caring cremation services have been entrusted to the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory in Lancaster, Ohio, as the family mourns the passing of a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life. Earl Ray Lama will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
