Earl Russell

March 21, 1951 — July 5, 2025

Caroll

Earl Russell, age 74, passed away on July 5, 2025, surrounded by love and laughter—just the way he lived. Born on March 21, 1951, Earl was known for his ornery sense of humor and unwavering reliability. He had a special gift for making people laugh, even in the toughest moments, and he never met a problem he couldn’t fix—or a person he couldn’t charm with a well-timed joke. Earl worked hard his entire life. He spent many years at the Baltimore Paper Mill, later became a successful real estate agent, and eventually served as a respected Maintenance Supervisor for Oakwood Management. Whatever the job, Earl gave it his all—always dependable, always steady, and always with a quick-witted remark in his back pocket. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Lucille Russell; his son, Darby Franklin Russell; his parents, Everett and Grace Russell; his in-laws, Chester and Betty Reincheld; and his brother, Walter Lee Russell. Left to carry on his legacy are his devoted daughter, Tamberly McKinney; his brother, David (Caroline) Russell; and his cherished grandchildren: Trevon (Meghan) Fout, Kilee McKinney, and Bryanna McKinney. Earl also leaves behind his treasured great-grandchildren: Landon, Aria, Harper, Theodore, Josephine, Poppy, and Russell Fout, all of whom were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his dear friend, Jerri Nafzger, whose companionship brought warmth and humor to his later years. Earl was many things—a jokester, a fixer, a father, a grandfather, and a loyal friend—but above all, he was the kind of man you could always count on. His stories, laughter, and signature stubborn charm will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.  A private family service will be held to honor his life. In true Earl fashion, stories and memories will be shared—some true, some a little stretched—just the way he would’ve liked it.  Memorial gifts may be given to the Fairfield Area Humane Society, 1721 Granville Pike, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
