Elece M. Ash, 95, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
She was born February 21, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Chester and Florine (Massett) Nicodemus. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church where she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. Elece was also a longtime volunteer worker in the American Red Cross blood program. She majored in Fine Arts at The Ohio State University for three years and graduated from the Columbus Art School (now the Columbus College of Art and Design).
Elece was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, A. Gene Ash, brother and sister-in-law Dr. Darell (Elizabeth) Nicodemus, and sister and brother-in-law Beverly (Donald) Nicolls
She is survived by son Stephen (Sally) Ash of Dayton, Ohio and daughter Beverlee (Charles) Long of Rittman, Ohio; five grandchildren, Stacey Ash, Laura (Jason) Palmer, Jordan (Rachel) Ash, Jennifer (Joseph) Dziczkowski, and Michael (Sloane) Long; 14 great grandchildren: and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
