Gary “Kosher” Courtney 70 of Baltimore, Ohio passed on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Grant Medical Center. He was born on October 28, 1955 in Lancaster, Ohio.
Gary was a retired truck driver for Performance Site Management with 20 years of service. Along with being a truck driver, he was a member of Fairfield Fish and Game, associate member of the Baltimore VFW Post 3761. He enjoyed fishing, driving his golf cart around Baltimore and vacationing with his friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Debbie ; sons, Gary Courtney of Reynoldsburg, Rick (Josh) Courtney and Mike (Cindy) Courtney all of Baltimore; daughter, Crystal Hochradel of Baltimore; grandchildren, Tanner (Jessica) Turner, Mya (Jake) Howard, Mikaela (Nathaniel) Knox, Justin (Tylar) Hochradel, Michael Courtney and 20 bonus grandchildren; great grandchildren, Bentley, Gracie, Brianna, and Charlotte; sisters, Jackie Chambers of North Carolina, Carolyn Hoy of Athens and Janet Ruckman of Pataskala and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Shirley and Floyd Camp, brother, Randy Deal and brother-in-law, Chuck Hoy and granddaughter, Alisha Courtney.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, BALTIMORE, OHIO with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Basil Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Fairfield County Fish and Game Association, 2270 Bickel Church Rd NW, Baltimore, Ohio 43105 in his memory.
