Helen Joy Malinski, a spirited soul who embraced life with an open heart and a dance in her step, departed from this world peacefully on September 11, 2025, while under the astute care of the Springs at Wyndott. Born on November 15, 1933, Helen’s journey through the tapestry of life was woven with joy, laughter, and an unquenchable passion for music and movement.
As a pharmacist by profession, Helen spent her days ensuring the well-being of those around her. Yet, her true love resonated in the vibrant realm of dance—a profound calling that allowed her to teach countless groups the beauty of rhythm and expression. From the elegance of ballroom to the enchanting allure of belly dancing, her life was a celebration of the arts. With every twirl and step, she radiated joy, inviting everyone to share in the magic of movement and the unifying power of music.
Helen's personality was one of boundless warmth, an outgoing spirit that never met a stranger. Her laughter echoed in the hearts of those she encountered, a melodic reminder of the joy of connection. A true social butterfly, she nurtured friendships and formed bonds wherever she went, painting the world with her vivacious presence.
Among her proudest accomplishments was her unwavering devotion to her beloved husband, Tadeusz Malinski, who preceded her in death. He was an OUL professor and Noble prize winner (Nanotechnology). Joy greatly supported his work and entertained guests from around the world in their home. Helen immersed herself in their life together, a beacon of support and love that illuminated their journey. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and a celebration of the moments that matter—moments that will forever inspire those she leaves behind.
Christ's sacrafice meant so much to Helen. She responded by serving the poor and needy around her.
In reflection of her spirit, Helen found inspiration in the verses of Psalm 30:11–12, affirming a life that embraced transformation: "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have removed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness." This encapsulates Helen’s essence; even in her departure, she leaves behind the promise of joy and gratitude for the blessings of life.
A special thanks goes out to all the staff at The Springs at Wyandot Trail, all of Fairfield Medical Center, and of course her close special friends throught the community that were touched by Joy's emmense personality.
As we bid farewell to Helen Joy Malinski, let us honor her memory with dance and joy, echoing the rhythm of her life. Though she has left this earthly stage, her spirit will continue to sway in the hearts of all who knew her, a reminder that life, much like dance, is meant to be celebrated with every beat, so as Joy would want, turn your mourning into dancing. May her legacy be cherished forever.
