Ival Vivian Eck
LANCASTER: Ival Vivian Eck was born February 27, 1913 to Wm. Franklin and Cora Ellen (Featheroff) Schooley in Vinton Co., Ohio. She was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Eck; parents; and eleven sisters and brothers – Oakel, Leman, Blanch, Oland, Flossie, Roy, Charles, Violet, Nellie, and Ray Schooley.
She is survived by her son, David Loren Eck (Marilyn); two grandchildren, Craig Allen Eck (Shelly) and Natalie Jean (Eck) Sunderlin (Michael) of Texas; four great-grandchildren; sister Wilma Alice (Schooley) Ralph of California; brother Wm. Franklin Schooley Jr. (Donna) of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caring sister-in-law Margaret Hamilton of Lancaster.
She was a devout Christian and long-time member of Maple Street United Methodist Church; a proud member of her state champion High School Girls Basketball team; and enjoyed choral singing, camping, and picnics with her family and friends. After retiring from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, she became a tireless church volunteer helping others in need. Her love for “home cooking”, group travel, and card playing was evident to her family, work friends, and anyone who knew her at the Olivedale Senior Center.
Special thanks for the outstanding organization, staff, activities, and facilities at Crestview Manor Nursing Home and to Hospice of Central Ohio who provided wonderful loving care during the last years of her life.
Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home on Friday May 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Mark Pierce officiating. Visiting hours are 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday May 12, 2011. A graveside service will follow the service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
