James "Jim" E. Woltz

June 5, 1949 — June 9, 2025

James "Jim" E. Woltz, a cherished member of the Lancaster community, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on June 5, 1949, in Lancaster, OH, Jim lived a life full of dedication.

Jim retired as a Superintendent at Kokosing Construction in the heavy highway asphault division. His commitment to his work was evident, and he later took on a part-time role at Hugh White as a porter. A proud graduate of LHS, Class of 1967, Jim's impact extended far beyond his professional life.

He was a family man at heart, finding immense joy in the company of his loved ones. A devoted husband for 57 years, he is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Miller Woltz. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their children, Kimberlee Fraser and Patrick Woltz. Jim took great pride in being a grandfather to Brittany (Daniel) Tellez, Thomas L. Fraser III, James Tyler Woltz, Tiffany Fraser, and Julie Woltz, as well as a great-grandfather to Luna and Soni Woltz. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry (Judy) Woltz and David (Becky) Woltz, sister-in-law Barb Wolf, and several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Jim's life was marked by a range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and particularly loved golfing. He was a proud 50+ year memer of Eagles FOE #2120 and enjoyed the camaraderie of his close friends there. He often reminisced about his trips to casinos, as well as the cherished moments spent visiting his grandchildren in Arizona and elsewhere.

Jim will be lovingly remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for the deep love he had for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Griffith Woltz, his brother, Ronny Woltz, his parents-in-law, Fred and Shirley Miller, and his son-in-law, Thomas L. Fraser and brother-in-law, David Wolf. Each of these losses shaped the man he became and the love he shared with others.

Jim's legacy is one of devotion, hard work, and profound familial love, leaving behind a family proud to carry forward the values he instilled in them. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Caring Cremation has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles, 1936 E. Main St. on Thursday, June 12th beginning @ 4:00pm. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
