James Stuart Ogilvie

November 23, 1946 — June 16, 2023

James Stuart Ogilvie was born November 23rd, 1946 in Lancaster, OH and died on June 16th, 2023. Jim was the third child and was preceded in death by parents Norman J. Ogilvie, Sr. and June Clawson Ogilvie, as well as brother Bruce Ogilvie.  He is survived by his daughters, Heather Ann Ogilvie of Savannah, Georgia and Natalie Corinne Ogilvie (Christopher Gipson) of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Jim was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Fenwick HS. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age 13.  He was a 1968 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH with a degree in business and a proud Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity brother. He served in the Army, including Vietnam from Aug. 1969 - May 1971 and received a Joint Service Commendation Medal.  He was a salesman for 10 years with Anchor Hocking and ended his sales career as the Vice President of Sales of Action Industries. He subsequently was an owner/operator of Minuteman Press for 10 years.  Most recently, Jim worked part-time in greens maintenance for OSU's Scarlet and Gray golf course.

Jim faced many challenges throughout his life which he met head-on with determination and perseverance.  He was fiercely independent, did not complain, and created a meaningful life.
He leaves his two daughters; his five brothers and their wives: Pip and Judy, Andy and Julie, Blaine and Veerawon, Stu and Benedicte, Doug and Chris; and his three sisters and their husbands; Patty and Chuck Kenrick, Laurie and Ken McClennan, Mary and Ron Huston. He has many nieces and nephews.

Caring Cremation ™has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, at the Basilica of St. Mary, 132 South  Street, Lancaster, Ohio.
