James E. Solomon

James E. Solomon, of Canal Winchester, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Bexley, OH. Jim was born January 31, 1931 in Columbus, OH to the late Charles and Leola (Eddy) Solomon.

Jim was a 1949 graduate of Pickerington High School. Following graduation, he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He attended The Ohio State University where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1957. He was a professional engineer with Buckeye Steel for 30 years where he secured five patents.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Solomon; children, James (Jean) Solomon, John (Julie) Solomon, Beverly (Tom) Storts, Corrine (Greg) Potts, and Patty (Kevin) Humble; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynch, Ryan Solomon, Charles Solomon III, Craig Goodrich, Tommy and Raymond Storts, John Potts, and Kristi and Paige Humble; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ann Lupher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Leola (Eddy) Solomon, and brother, Charles W. Solomon Jr.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1 PM at the Crossroads Church Circleville, 5679 Tarlton Rd., Circleville, OH 43113, with Rev. David VanHoose officiating. Burial, with military honors will take place in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will take place from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130, and again from 12-1 PM on Friday prior to the service at the church.
