Lancasterr and Canal Winchester

Janet Boyer, a beloved matriarch and a steadfast pillar in her family, peacefully passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on July 9, 1931, in Canal Winchester, Janet lived a life marked by resilience, love, and a profound dedication to learning and creativity.

For over 20 years, Janet dedicated her career to the Fairfield County Library, where her passion for literature shone brightly. She was known to read a book a day and became an invaluable source of wisdom and knowledge to all who knew her. A proud graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1949, it was clear that Janet possessed not only a thirst for knowledge but also a strength and intelligence that were truly inspiring.

Beyond her professional achievements including being a member of the BPW, Janet was an artist at heart, finding joy in sketching, painting, crafting, and sewing. Her hands, skilled in creation, produced not only art but also countless memories cherished by her family. Janet's greatest accomplishments, however, were her children, grandchildren, and the legacy of love and togetherness she fostered within her family. She held family gatherings close to her heart, where laughter, stories, and affection flowed freely.

Janet is survived by her beloved children: Steve (Marlene) Boyer, Missy Boyer Kouns, and Debbie Boyer (Norman) Snoke. She delighted in her role as a grandmother to Staci Pabst, Craig (Denise) Blank, Amy Boyer, Kurt (Shana) Woolum, Kyle (Navya Mallepeddi) Rooker, and Keith Rooker. The profound joy she experienced from her several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren further illuminated her life, marking her days filled with love and pride. She also leaves behind her special caretaker, Sissy Saylor. Janet also leaves behind her cherished feline companion, Callie, who has been a source of comfort in her later years.

Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Billingsly Zaayer, her father, Delmar Zaayer, and her stepmother, June Zaayer. She also mourned the passing of her beloved son, Rex Boyer, whose memory remained a tender part of her heart throughout her life.

As we remember Janet Boyer, we celebrate a woman who embodied wisdom, strength, and creativity. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
