Janet Schmelzer Kidder

Janet Schmelzer Kidder, 76, of Bremen, formerly of Lancaster, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Janet was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered as a woman who was dedicated to her family and her faith.

Janet is survived by her husband, Otho Dale Kidder; children, Janice (James) Spackey; Sandra (Tracy) Maddux, Bernice (Tim) Brown, and James (Robin) Schmelzer; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Katherine Sue Miller; and her special West Virginia family.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Schmelzer; daughter, Teresa Schmelzer Lambert; parents, Allen and Lena Bay Wade; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
