Jeff Gourlay

Jeff Gourlay 56 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 8, 1964 to the late David and Lola Gourlay.

He was a a software developer at H&R Block with 20 years of service, Insuraware, State of Ohio, and most recently worked at Amazon in Etna, Ohio.

Jeff’s family were charter members of Riverside Bible Church in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Star Trek fan, enjoyed cooking, making cabbage rolls, meat loaf and very diversified in his listening of music.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sharon; daughters, Rune “Samantha” Gourlay and Izie “Isabelle” Gourlay; many friends and family members.

Jeff was preceded in death by his infant son, Niko Gourlay, parents and step-mother, Hazel Gourlay.

Funeral service will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Laura Young officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
