Jennie Louise (Bitler) Chase

Jennie Louise (Bitler) Chase 74 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 28, 1950 to the late James and Mary Bitler.

Jennie was a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1968 and later a graduate of Ohio State School of Cosmetology Class of 1985. She went on to operate her own business Jennie’s Hair Extraordinar' for many years. Jennie enjoyed talking and meeting new people in her shop and around her community.

She thought a lot of her grandchildren and transporting them to their various events and then cheering them on.

Jennie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee Chase; sons, Greg (Christy) Chase and Kevin (Cassie) Chase all of Lancaster; special son, Brenden Marcum of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Darrick (Cortlyn) Chase, Coleton (Jerilyn) Chase, Brody Chase, Bryce Chase, Ashton Chase and Averie Chase; sisters, Bonnie Guseman and Marrianne (Allen) McManus all of Lancaster; close friends, Doris Pierce, Dianna Lambert and Linda Faigley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Matthew McManus, great nephew, Nathan Waller and brother-in-law, Michael Guseman.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Joel Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
