Lancaster - John Allan Gamble, 67, died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Center.
John worked as an engineer in the glass industry for over 43 years between Anchor Hocking and Lancaster Glass. He loved the Browns and Buckeyes. He valued his friends, and was well liked and loved by all who had the good fortune to know him. John always felt he was so lucky to have so many friends. He was a member of VFW Post 1516, the Moose Lodge 955, and Peerless Masonic Lodge 591 in Crooksville. John’s family would like to thank everyone that helped John, especially through the last few years of difficulty.
John is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Susan and son Matthew A. Gamble, his wife Erika, grandsons Landen and Parker, and grand puppy Tuukka. John is also survived by brothers Edward Jr., his wife Marge, and Robert, and his wife Leslie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Edward H. Gamble, mother, Marguerite, grandparents Walter and Hazel Singer, brother-in-law Michael Doran, good friend Eric Morse and best dog ever, Foxy.
Calling hours will be held from 2- 4PM, Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Masonic Rites will begin at 4PM, accompanied by a funeral service officiated by Rev. Jill Dunlap. Caring Cremation® to follow.
