John R. "Dick" Neel

John R. “Dick” Neel, of Lancaster, passed away on March 4, 2024, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus. 

John was a loving son and caregiver for his father. He was also a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and he was a fan of old movies and TV shows, which gave him comfort in his final days.

He is survived by his brother, Dave Neel; sister, Patti (Christina) Dittoe; ex-wife and best friend, Rhonda Rife; and many friends from the Lancaster East Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Lancaster City Schools, where he worked.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Neel; mother, Maggie Neel; father Herb Neel; and sister-in-law, Ruth Neel.

Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be held on April 20, 2024 at 4 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1602 Cedar Hill Road, Lancaster 43130. A live stream to the service can be found on Zoom via: Zoom: 590972873 Password: 033374
