Josh Wymer, 53, of Baltimore, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born to Holly and Aaron Wymer on March 1, 1972, in Zanesville, Ohio. He was almost a leap year baby.
Josh graduated from Philo High School. He worked for Worthington Industries for almost 30 years as a machinist. Josh loved being outdoors, arrowhead hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed restoring and riding his vintage bicycles and he was obsessed with Bigfoot. More than anything, Josh loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, PapPap, and friend. He was smart and had the best sense of humor.
Josh is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cassandra; parents, Aaron (Brenda) Wymer and Holly (Jim) Oiler; brother, Christian Wymer; children, Brandon (Abby) Wymer, Gabrielle (Michael) Hiles, Noah (Olivia) Wymer; grandchildren, Lyla (Lyla-Bean), Henry (Little Man), and Pierce (on the way); niece and nephew, Claire and Carter Boggs; mother and father in-law, Connie and Kenny Skidmore; brother-in-law, Bill (Nikki) Boggs; best friend, Michael Headley, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Cooper Boggs, and grandparents, Chipper and Francis Gibson, and Patricia and Carroll Wymer.
A Masonic Service for Josh will start at 6 pm on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Jill Dunlap will follow after. Friends and family may visit from 10-12 pm on Wednesday and from 4-6 pm, before the service. Caring Cremation® will take place following the service.
