Obituary

With heavy hearts and tender remembrance, we honor the life of Joyce A. Rabb, age 79 who departed this world on March 18, 2026, in Lancaster, Ohio. Born on November 1, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, Joyce’s journey was marked by a gentle spirit, a gift for companionship, and a faith that illuminated her path.

Joyce was known among those fortunate enough to know her as a warm, gabby soul who loved to talk, especially about the Bible—a passion that was not only a pastime but the cornerstone of her life. Her days were comforted and enriched by the sacred words she read and cherished, often shared during her devoted attendance at the 1st Baptist Church. Joyce’s faith was both a refuge and a beacon, guiding her gently through life.

In her professional life, Joyce served as a secretary, bringing organization and care to her work with a steady hand and kind heart. Beyond her work, she had a unique fondness for collecting anything pink and frilly—a whimsical collection that reflected her delicate sensibility and quietly joyful nature. Though she often kept to herself, those who knew the true Joyce discovered a vibrant and fun-loving personality, especially once she blossomed from her cherished shell.

Joyce’s passage came surrounded by compassionate care under the watchful eyes of the devoted team at Buckeye Care and Rehabilitation. It is with profound sorrow that we remember her loss but also with deep gratitude for the comfort she received in her final days.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Howard Ford and Lillian Strall Ford, her dear sister, Lorenne (Eldon) Carlin and brother, James Fowler. Their memory lives on in her heart and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Joyce A. Rabb’s life may have seemed quiet on the surface, but it spoke volumes of love, faith, and gentle joy. She leaves behind a legacy of heartfelt conversations, tender moments, and unwavering devotion that will remain forever cherished. While she is no longer with us, the warmth of her spirit and the beauty of her life’s story continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
