Julia Cumberland

Julia A. Cumberland 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Lan-Fair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 6, 1931 in Morgan County, Ohio to the late Cecil and Hilda (Archer) Glass.

She was a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a B.A. Degree in music and was a member of the Alpha Theta Sorority.

Julia was retired from Anchoring Hocking Glass Corp. as a personnel/safety manager and later worked for the United Way. She liked classical piano, reading, crossword puzzles, jig-saw puzzles and a member of Olivedale Senior Citizens Center.

Julia is survived by her sons, Miles (Debbie) Cumberland of Dublin, Ohio and Jeffrey (Mary) Cumberland of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris Cumberland, Kelly (Kyle) Youker, Sonya Rhymer and Shawn Nixon; great grandchildren, Dylan Cumberland, Tristen Youker, Landon Youker, Taylor Rhymer, and Dylon Rhymer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Kelly Sue Cumberland.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Caring Cremation® has taken place. Friends may visit from 12-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.
