Leo Edward Strawn, Sr.

Leo “Butch” Strawn, 84, of Lancaster passed away June 8, 2025, at the Pickering House with his wife and family by his side. He was born January 12, 1941 to the late Harry and Carrie (Unger) Strawn.

He served in the U.S. Army. Leo was a retired supervisor for Anchor Hocking for over 34 years. He was an avid bowler, and golfer with 3 holes in one.

Leo is survived by his wife Wilma Kay Strawn, children Leo (Leah) Strawn, Jr., Tracy (John) Lamb, Kimberly Hamilton, Jennifer Alspaugh, Teresa Strawn, and Travis “TJ” (Mandy) Strawn, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Brother Sam (Mary Jo) Strawn and sister Alta Darlene Ruff. Daughter-in-law Lea Strawn, brother-in-laws Virgil Hull and Larry Sinift, sisters-in-laws Linda and Jonni Burgoon, many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Chris Strawn, and daughter Cynthia Jo, in laws Jonathan and Wanda Burgoon, granddaughter Myranda Kay Schorr, grandson Austin Michael Crist, daughter-in-law Debbie Strawn and her infant daughter, siblings Florance (Edward) Tipple, Lester (Edna) Strawn, Martin (Bonnie) Strawn, Vannie Hull, sisters-in-law Vonda Strawn and Donna Sinift, brother-in-law Phillip Ruff, nephews Doug and Jeff Strawn and Todd Ruff.

Funeral services will be June 17, 2025 at 11AM in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be on June 16, 2025 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM and 1 hour prior to the service with pastor Dave Helser officiating.

The family would like to thank the Greenfield TWP fire department, Fairhope Hospice, and the Pickering House for their love and care given to Leo.
