Leota Mae Acton

Leota Mae Acton 92, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Carroll Place surrounded by family and friends. She resided for 60 plus years on Coonpath Road in the home she and her husband built.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Leota was a member of Shalom United Methodist Church, Bloom Carroll Band Boosters and a room mother. She enjoyed serving the Lord, spending time with her family, volunteering at Foundation Dinners, socializing with friends at Carroll Place and playing bingo.

Leota is survived by her children, Thomas N. Acton, Jr., Timothy L. (Sarah E.) Acton, Susan (John Hamric) Acton all of Lancaster, Ohio, Steven A. (Toi) Acton of Baltimore, Ohio and Melissa (Rob) Kinker of Vincent, Ohio; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her close friend Melissa Church, many friends and staff at Carroll Place.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas N. Acton, Sr., parents, Chester and Gertrude Hart, grandson, Matthew Acton, great grandchildren, Joel Bartos and Alexah Acton, step grandchild, Michael Ayers, brother, Bob Hart, sister, Joann Randolph and daughter-in-law, Peggy Acton.

A private graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Leota’s life Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Rising Park shelter house between 4:00 and 6:30. Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, LANCASTER, OHIO.
