Lewis McCoy

Lewis McCoy was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022 in his home with his family by his side.

Lewis was born on April 2, 1950 in Crum, West Virginia. He graduated from Inez High School and proudly served on the Columbus Fire Department for 29 years. Lewis retired as a Captain and Safety Officer in 2002. He enjoyed mowing grass and splitting wood, watching his bird feeders from the kitchen table, and Friday date nights with his wife, Dazzling Deb. Lewis, Papa, cherished the time he was able to share with his family and watching his grandchildren. His faithfulness, humor, and love for his family will never be forgotten.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Debbie, his three children, Echo (Bobby Vachio), Ian (Jodi), and Derek (Stephanie), and his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother (Alma), father (Earnest), and his oldest brother (Jimmy).

A funeral service for Lewis will be held in Pleasant Chapel Church of God, 3225 Old Mill Rd. NE, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Calling hours will be held at the church Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio.
