Loy “Sonny” Fauble Jr., 78, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born on Thursday, June 5, 1947, to the late Loy Fauble Sr and Mary (Ankrom) Fauble.
Loy was a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1963 and served in the Army at Fort Hood in Texas and Fort Gordon in Georgia. He worked for many years with disabled and challenged children and adults as an assistant therapist at Forest Rose. Loy also worked in the Fairfield County Library system as an assistant librarian and drove the bookmobile, bringing the joy of reading to everyone. He was active at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and loyally volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America. Ever available to help his friends, neighbors, and acquaintances, Loy had an enduring passion to care for animals all of his life.
Loy is survived by his sister, Nancy (Howard) Crosbie of Mauldin, SC; nephews, Joseph Crosbie of Mauldin, SC and Stephen (Amanda) Crosbie of Papillon, NE; great-nephews, Nolan and Wesley Crosbie; uncle, Bill Ankrom; aunts, Shirley Morris and Hazel Engle as well as many cousins in Lancaster and beyond.
