M. Louise Gierhart

M. LOUISE (Susie) GIERHART age 97 of Baltimore died Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Crestview Manor Nursing Center.

She was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Baltimore.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Shirley and Thomas Farrell, Columbus and Pamela Schaffner, Baltimore; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Carole Gierhart, Barefoot Bay, FL, Greg and Laurel Gierhart, Sandy, UT; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild; sister, Verna Messerly, Baltimore; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Donna Schoffner, Baltimore; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Boivin Gierhart in 1990; son, Gary Gierhart; granddaughter, Kristi Gierhart; parents Homer and Christina Schoffner; sisters, infant Ruth Marie Schoffner, Marie Bohr and Irene Hamler; brothers, infant Murray, Albert, Wesley, Wilson and Norman (Fred) Schoffner.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, Baltimore with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Basil Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may call Monday from 2-4; 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Trinity United Church of Christ in Louise’s memory.
