Mary Lou Shaeffer 83 of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania former resident of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at West Virginia University Hospital.  She was born on May 5, 1940 in Pleasantville, Ohio to the late Wayne E. and Kathryn George.

She was retired from Carnival Foods where she worked in the Fun Spot for Children area.  She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, loved her Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team and eating out especially with her Wednesday girls.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Frank) Seebode of Delaware, Ohio, Bobbie (Steve) Weekley of Lancaster, Ohio and Barbara (Darren) Tuinstra of Circleville, Ohio; son, Charles (Kelly) Shaeffer of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Leanna) George of Bellefontaine, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Willie and Tammy Bigham of Amanda, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” E. Shaeffer, parents, sisters, Linda George, Ruth Kisor and Nancy Pullins.

Arrangements were handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster, Ohio.
