Michael William Eccard

Michael William Eccard, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Pickering House, home of Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care, Lancaster, Ohio.

He was born on October 7, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio to Russell and Phyllis Eccard of Lancaster, Ohio. Michael graduated from Groveport Madison High School, and proceeded with The Ohio State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was employed with the City of Columbus with the Civil Service Commission, and would have started his 35th year this March 12th. Michael loved serving the Lord in the music ministry playing the piano and organ for almost 50 years, but delved into many other ministries for Christ. Everyone that knew Michael, loved Michael. 

Michael is survived by his wife, Rebecca Eccard, married September 28, 1991 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Columbus, Ohio where the couple met. They have a daughter, Hannah Eccard (Aaron) Howes, with two grandsons, Duke and Denver Howes and granddaughter, Rebecca “Becca” to arrive in June, all of Amanda, Ohio. He is also survived by a younger brother, Bryan (Kimberly) Eccard of Pleasantville, Ohio and nieces Lindsay (Christopher) Davis of Lancaster, Ohio, and Chelsea (Andy) Gerschutz of New Bavaria, Ohio; and nephew Cody(Lexi) Eccard of Pleasantville, Ohio; grand niece, Riley Davis and grand nephews Ryder Davis, and Creed and Nash Gerschutz, and Bentley and Barrett Eccard; as well as many cousins.

Caring Cremation® has taken place under the direction of Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. At the family's request there will be no services held.
