Michelle Lynn Claypool, 47, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 4th, 2026, at The Fairhope Hospice Pickering House, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 28th, 1978, to Mitch and Pam Meadows.
Michelle was a 1997 graduate of Lancaster High School. She spent many years working at Vinton County National Bank, a place that became so much more than just a job to her. She truly loved working there. Most importantly, Michelle loved the wonderful people she worked alongside. She was a member of the Lancaster Corvette Club and a 25-year 4-H advisor for Champions 4-H Club.
Her family will forever cherish the memories of Momma—the sound of her voice, her laugh, her hugs, the things she taught us, and all the moments, both big and small, that we were blessed to share with her. Her love, guidance, and strength will continue to live on through the people she touched.
Although our hearts are broken by losing her, we find comfort in knowing that her suffering is over and that the love Mama gave us will never leave us. She will continue to live on through her daughters, her husband, her family, her friends, and everyone whose life she touched.
Michelle is survived by her loving husband, Jason Claypool, of 24 years; daughters, Ashley (Tyler) Hopper and Carley Claypool; parents, Mitch and Pam Meadows; brother, Michael (Tasha) Meadows; nieces, Casey and Erin Meadows; mother-in-Law, Linda Claypool, and grandma, Phyllis Milliser.
She also leaves behind her precious puppy, Max, who was her constant companion and brought so much love and comfort into her life; fur grandbabies that she loved and spoiled: Ollie, Hank, and Opie; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles (Pop) Bentz; grandparents Harold and Martha Meadows; and father-in-Law, Dan Claypool.
A funeral service for Michelle will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Green Mound Cemetery in Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Michelle’s name to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130.
