Nelson L. Deeter

Nelson L. Deeter, 79, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away at St. Ann’s Hospital on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  He was born in Lancaster to the late Robert and Bernice Deeter on May 25, 1942.

Nelson was a skilled toolmaker and worked for Essex, Rockwell International, McDonnell Douglas, and Holophane.  Nelson was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, and was a fix-it man that enjoyed helping the church, family and friends with any project.  Nelson also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing games with his grandchildren.  Nelson was fun loving and beloved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Deeter; children James Deeter, Kathryn (James) Beedy, and Michael (Jennifer) Deeter; grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Kelsie, and Kaite; four step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; sister-in-law Darlene Deeter; and multiple grand puppies.

Nelson is preceded in death by his parents, twin siblings, brother Eldon Deeter and sister Elaine Konkler; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church, Pickerington, Ohio with Rev. Patty Wycuff officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Evangelical Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials may be given in Nelson’s name to Fairview United Methodist Church 6100 Fairview Rd, Pickerington OH 43147.
